In Focus: Transformation — Architecture and Climate Change

International convening of architects and designers addressing climate challenges through sustainable design, urban resilience, and Indigenous ecological knowledge.

Date & Time at 2:00 PM PST
Location Hammer Museum Los Angeles, US
Organizer Hammer Museum

Why we picked this

The Hammer brings together architects from around the world to ask the most urgent question in design: how do we build for a climate that's already changing?

Climate change is an architecture problem as much as it is an energy problem. This half-day convening at the Hammer Museum brings together an international group of architects and designers — including David Barragan, Teddy Cruz & Fonna Forman, and Walter Hood — to discuss how design can respond to environmental crisis, urban inequality, and the displacement of communities.

The panel draws on Indigenous ecological knowledge alongside cutting-edge sustainable design, which is the right combination for a conversation that’s usually too narrow. Free at the Hammer, one of LA’s most important cultural institutions.
