A new quarterly literary series celebrating independent presses, with four writers reading and conversing, hosted by Okechukwu Nzelu and Eliza Clark.
Why we picked this
The Southbank's new quarterly for independent publishing — four writers from four different presses, introduced by Max Porter. This is where the interesting edges of contemporary fiction live.
Indie Night is a new quarterly series at the Southbank Centre celebrating independent presses and the authors they publish. The inaugural evening brings together four writers whose work spans fiction, nonfiction, and poetry: Deepa Anappara, Khairani Barokka, Vigdis Hjorth, and Tim MacGabhann.
The evening is hosted by Okechukwu Nzelu and Eliza Clark, with an introduction by Max Porter. Independent publishers selling books at the event include Oneworld Publications, Scratch Books, Verso Books, and Tilted Axis Press. Each event in the series promises an eclectic mix of established names and emerging voices, united by the independent spirit of their publishers.
